Microbial contamination is an increasingly significant risk factor in Food Manufacturing units and Water based industrial Manufacturing units. Cleaning and disinfection regimens are indispensable components for its prevention but needs to be validated, monitored, and verified. This in turn, entails the implementation of protocols for surface sampling and the assessment of Microbial contamination.
Surface sampling by ISO 18593:2018 standard can be used to evaluate microbial contamination in process and finished products. It helps in detection, Enumeration and Identification of pathogenic microorganisms. Environmental sampling of Operation theatres also helps establish disinfection level.
