These are products that are herbal products, dietary supplements, specific diets, and processed foods such as cereals, soups, and beverages which are used as medicine. Nutraceuticals may be used to improve health, delay the aging process, avert chronic diseases, increase life expectancy, or support the structure or function of the body. Majority of the nutraceuticals hold numerous therapeutic benefits providing protection against various diseases, Anti-obese agents, Anti-diabetic agents, Anti-cancer agents, Immune boosters, Substances that manage chronic inflammatory disorders, Formulations to cure degenerative diseases.

Microbiological testing of these formulations for Total Bacterial count, Total fungal count and detection of Pathogens such as Coliform group, Escherichia coli, Enterobacteriaceae, Bacillus cereus, Salmonella, Listeria etc. by IS Methods are carried out.
